Fine sawdust. Dunnage warehouses comes to mind. Complex fruit. Strawberry. Blueberry. Ripe Apple. Ripe melon. Soft bananas. Light honey. Creamy vanilla. Rum and raisin. Malty biscuits. A touch of ginger, clove and pepper. A complete fruit salad with custard. A really gorgeous aroma I haven’t extracted my nose form the glass in many minutes.
Oh the juicy fruits! Sweet and sour juices. Fruit compote crazy. Berries (red/blue/straw). Grapes. Raisins. Raspberry. Sweet gooseberry. A berry bonanza. Vanilla. Sweet ginger. Some oak dust. Beautiful silky mouthfeel. It’s all about the fruit. Like jamming a whole packet of fruit pastilles and starburst in the mouth at the same time, with a couple a
Haribo sours to liven it up.
Medium long. Honey fruits slowly fade, with a touch of drying oak. A chest hugging warmth as it goes down. Silky, oily and desirable. Demanding to be sipped over and over.
A small drop added. The nose has lost a little of the fruitiness, being replaced with more malt and oak. The palate is drier in the development. With some of the punch taken out of the fruit. But still incredibly mouth coating and pleasing. The finish, warming and fulfilling. Great stuff. But go easy on the water. Personally I love this whiskey with no water.
A dangerous whiskey this one but for all very good reasons. Extremely tasty, moreish and easy drinking. Exceptionally fruity juicy stuff. If you only like dry and smokey this is not your thing. Otherwise you would be very wise to try this one out. Teeling has done it again. They are now well and truly one of my favourite distilleries. Producing some very sensational sipping whiskies. Thank you!
Thanks to Teeling for the review sample. Awesome stuff. Why can’t I buy it yet! 🙂
